My Standalone client doesn't update. What should I do?

GENERAL FIX

If your Standalone client's updater does not work when you run the game, you'll have to delete a file from your game folders in order to enable it again.

  1. If you go into your documents folder, you should find a folder in there named "Klei." 
  2. In there will be another folder named "DoNotStarve"
  3. Inside the "DoNotStarve" folder, delete the file "updater.json" 

Once deleted, try to run the game again. The updater should pop up for you the next time you run the game. Just remember to put your game key in the updater when prompted and it should work for you.

KNOWN ISSUE

If you find an error with the updater, such as a "ABORTED File...." message, this means that you had likely run into a corrupted file install.

To fix this, the next time you run the updater, please use the "Check Consistency" option under the File menu. This option should check your files and download\repair any ones that are corrupted or missing.
